GTO 52 Swing arm gripper shaft
Used when the needle bearings have worn into gripper shaft. Hardened bearing sleeves are fitted. Machines that have the Heidelberg Direct Dampering System fitted tend to drip water onto the swingarm if the rollers are not set correctly or need to be replaced. This damages the bearings that in turn wears the gripper shaft.
Used if there is movement and wear in the front
lay latch out system. This usually shows as
the front lays not holding down or banging when
not running sheets. Can also effect correct opening of swing arm grippers at feedboard and tearing of sheet going into impression cylinder.
A hardened sleeve is fitted to the shaft where it runs in needle bearing. Bracket as been bored and sleeved and re-pinned.
